March 21, 2001!  Final divorce papers came in and off came my moustache!  This bit of memory has come in handy of late!

Who is this Guy (Idiot)?  Well, I'm with North American Alarm Company, and the Americom Central Station, both in San Francisco.  For fun, I'm active with the San Francisco Fire Department's Neighborhood Emergency Response Teams (NERT), and the San Francisco Office of Emergency Services, where I was proud to serve as Chief Engineer, from 1994 until June 2001.  I now serve as "Logician in charge of Fire Houses", a dream assignment, if there ever was one.   As you'll soon see, I don't like to be cooped up in the house and always keep my passport current! 

The above photo shows Bill as he "suffers" a 3 day cruise from Kenya to Djibouti - just off the coast of Somalia.   As their rockets have a 15 mile range, we were 16 miles offshore - at least!   Nobody suggested that we stop for lunch!  From the Spring 1996 African tour collection.  Sorry to report that Somalia is still a war torn mess with no government or law - other than the law of the jungle.  You don't read about it in the American press, though.

So, WHY this page?  Easy!   To learn how to use the web, then use it to keep in touch with family and friends.   Aunt Matilda in West Virginia can just point and click to see what the West Coasters are up to! 

As a single Dad, I take a great interest in my 2 young son's upbringing, and spend as much time with them as I can - and try to use that time to best advantage for them.  We have had many great adventures, and are happy to share some of them with you.  If you think you'll find jabs and pokes at others,  think again.  This is a FUN site and is suitable for all ages.

Note. at the end of 2000: The pictured Adventure Vest was retired from service and replaced with one purchased during our October 2000 Disneyland adventure.  The new one is lighter, better designed and has more pockets.  The old adventure vest saw the following countries:  USA, Mexico, Canada, England, India, Maldives, Seychelles, Madagascar, Tanzania, Kenya, Djibouti, Jordan, Egypt, Cyprus, Hong Kong, PR of China, South Korea and Japan.  May the new adventure vest take me to as many places in the future!
