Who We Are:

North American Alarm Co. traces it's history back to 1968, when the son of a security company owner opened an alarm operation.  In 1972, Bill Cereske, the current President, formed his own fledgling alarm enterprise.  By 1975, the two  companies had merged to form North American Alarm Co.  Soon thereafter the Son from the security company owner sold his share to Bill, who has led the firm ever since.  From humble beginnings, North American is now a leader in the local security industry. Bill is still friends with both Father and Son to this day.

For electronic security and fire detection services for your home or business, there is simply no one with more years of experience in San Francisco.  Closed Circuit Television systems are a specialty.  We also provide access control systems, Telephone entry systems, waterflow fire alarm service, sprinkler supervision, holdup alarm service, critical systems monitoring, elevator telephone monitoring, refrigeration and freezer temperature monitoring and supervision of any needed condition.

So, what happened to Bill?

Bill still is President of the company, but much of the day to day operation is in the hands of his professional staff, with Yolanda Colbert in the General Manager's chair.   Bill has served several years as an officer with the Golden Gate Alarm Association, including two as President.  He has served on the Board of Directors of the California Alarm Association.  Currently, he is Chairman of the Board of Directors at Americom Central Station, a cooperative central station of which North American is a substantial partner.  He is known to still don a technician's uniform from time to time, and do a day of service calls.  Sometimes, it's because excellent service demands another qualified technician that day.  Sometimes, it's to keep skills sharp.  Other times - it's just to make sure the systems are being properly cared for and the clients are happy - by going "Undercover".

In keeping with his life long mission of keeping people safe, Bill serves pro bono publico with the San Francisco Fire Department through the Neighborhood Emergency Response Team  (NERT) and the San Francisco Office of Emergency Services (OES).   You can often find him there.  Bill, a single Dad among everything else, takes an active role in the raising of his two sons.  You can visit Bill at his Personal Web Site.
